Let your vinyl sit without washing for at least 24 hours.
First check your manufacturer s specifications this applies to the transfer and substrate.

If you are working with htv we recommend washing your shirts inside out with cold water and drying on low.
If the reason why you are pre washing is to prevent shrinkage consider just buying pre shrunk t shirts.
